Recycled Melange yarn still has the same properties as Blended Melange and Grey Melange yarns but is especially more environmentally-friendly due to recycled material sources, which is highly appreciated by many consumers. While Blended Melange and Grey Melange yarns contain mainly Cotton or Polyester, Recycled Melange makes full use of post-consumer plastic bottles.

Production process of Recycled Melange yarn

Manufacturing process and input materials are necessary, carefully researched and selected to ensure the quality and safety of Recycled Melange yarn. So what is the basic process to produce Recycled Melange yarn?

1. Selection of input materials: Select and only buy GRS-certified recycled materials.

2. Dyeing fiber: The fibers are processed by a dyeing factory to dye the required color by Top Dyeing technology.

3. Spinning: Dyed fibers go through a series of combing and spinning machinery to form yarns with parameters according to the specifications of 20s, 30s, 40s,… or as requested.

+ Products must have clear origin information, fabric composition, and the manufacturer with safety certifications.

 

GRS (Global Recycle Standard) is considered the most complete international standard to evaluate the following criterias: input recycled material composition, the process of custody of recycled products, limited usage of chemicals and its impacts on society and the environment. The GRS standard is used to define recycled content in the ISO 14021 standard.
